Every model, rigorously checked.
Before any model goes on sale it passes four automated quality gates. No exceptions. Here's exactly what we check and why it matters for your prints.
Good Geometry
No degenerate triangles or winding errors
Every mesh is scanned for degenerate triangles — faces with zero area, collapsed edges, or invalid vertex positions that confuse slicers and cause unpredictable layer paths. We also verify consistent face winding so every normal points outward. Files with inverted faces or mixed winding are rejected before listing.
Mesh Integrity
100% watertight — 0 non-manifold edges, 0 duplicate faces
A watertight mesh is the single most critical requirement for reliable slicing. Open holes, non-manifold edges (where more than two faces share an edge), and duplicate faces all cause slicer failures. Every OddityLabs model is verified to be a fully closed, manifold solid — the same standard that industrial 3D printing workflows demand.
Minimum Wall Thickness
Printable on both resin and FDM
Walls that are too thin collapse during printing — on FDM they cannot be extruded at all, and on resin they fail during peel cycles. We run thickness analysis on every model and flag any region thinner than the threshold for its target process. Where thinness is inherent to a design (such as fine armour trim), we document the recommended process and settings on the product page.
File Optimisation
Right triangle count — detailed, but not slicer-crashing
Raw scans and over-subdivided sculpts can hit millions of triangles with no visible quality gain — they just make slicers crawl or crash. We run decimation and optimisation passes to bring every mesh to the right balance: enough triangles to preserve all surface detail at print resolution, without unnecessary data that bloats file size. Each model is also tested for import and slicing performance in Bambu Studio, Lychee, and Cura.
Still can't get it to print?
If a model you purchased won't print correctly even after following our recommended settings, contact support. We'll help you troubleshoot — and if we can't fix it, we'll refund you. No questions asked.
