A great chess set combines tactile heft with striking artistic geometry. OddityLabs chess designs feature stable low-center-of-gravity bases and reinforced slender features (like crowns and knights' manes) to ensure each piece withstands regular gameplay while capturing breathtaking shelf-display presence.
OddityLabs Print Note: For maximum piece heft without requiring post-processing, slice with 4-5 perimeter walls and 35–50% Gyroid or Honeycomb infill. This concentrates density near the base and provides a substantial, satisfying in-hand weight.
Instead of printing light hollow pieces, set wall perimeters to 4 or 5 and infill to 35–50% using Gyroid or Cubic infill patterns. This concentrates mass toward the bottom of each piece and gives the set a solid, professional hand feel.
OddityLabs sets are designed with proportional King heights and wide bases scaled for standard 2-inch (50mm) to 2.25-inch (57mm) tournament chessboard squares. You can uniformly scale up or down in your slicer by 10-15% to suit compact travel boards.
Increase wall perimeters to 4-5 lines and set your slicer infill to 35–50% Gyroid or Honeycomb. Using dense composite filaments like Marble PLA also adds tangible mass without altering geometry.
100% Watertight Mesh Guarantee: All files are pre-verified with 0 degenerate triangles and 0 non-manifold edges.
